Today I ran a story hour with my friend Sara. We invited Sara's sister, the girl next door, and Annelise. The story we read was "You are Special" by Max Lucado. It is a good story but it took longer than we planned and we just fit everything in. The craft that they did was a self portrait.
They drew a picture of themselves with a white crayon. Then they painted over the wax with watercolors. That left a colorful portrait of themselves. They had a snack of goldfish, juiceboxes and oranges. We still had to play a "pin the tail" game. Actually it was pin the star on the target game. It went along with the book that we read. They had a great time trying to put the star on the middle of the target. At the end we were going to draw stars and stuff in whipping cream but we couldn't find the can of cream so we just made sculptures of wemmicks (the characters in the book) in clay. Annelise made a very fat man. At the end we found out that we made $12 in total so we split that and I got $6! Plus, we had such a good time.

Gaby says she wish she could have come to your story time. I think it sounds like you really thought it out and planned it well. Good job!
